Genevieve O'Shea
Clinical Cardiothoracic Associate

Genevieve joined Vital Engineering in March 2008 following more than 10 years service in the MCS arena including direct bedside patient care at The Alfred Hospital and 3 years in industry with a VAD startup company. Ms. O’Shea completed her bachelor degree in nursing, and postgraduate studies in cardiothoracic critical care in Melbourne, Australia. Genevieve is a certified critical care nurse and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in nursing as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner at the University of Pittsburgh.

Ms. O'Shea has over 7 years experience in cardiothoracic intensive care nursing, and enhanced a strong clinical background by working in a variety of roles with the device manufacturer sector. This gave her the opportunity to gain experience in clinical trial management, patient and staff education, and clinical support of ventricular assist devices. Genevieve has a particular clinical interest in wound management related to VADs. Her duties with Vital Engineering include clinical and technical support and device training.
