As a biomedical engineer in the Artificial Heart Program at UPMC since 1999, Mr. Stone has been actively involved with UPMC's IABP transport team, participating in the development and evaluation of a new IABP controller for emergency patient transport. He has significant experience in providing engineering support for VAD patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings, and is involved in the training of new AHP employees in IABP and VAD patient and device support. Mr. Stone received a bachelor's degree in health, physical and recreation education: exercise science from the University of Pittsburgh.
